Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive

WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive) 

Currently valid EU WEEE Directive (Directive 2012/19/EU) entered into force on 13 August 2012. This Directive aims to protect the environment and human health.

It is one of Shimadzu Group’s targets to contribute to the circular economy by reducing contamination from Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment, promoting reuse and recycling. Therefore, Shimadzu promotes the collection of Waste of Electronic and Electrical Equipment.

Shimadzu local service representatives are registered according to national requirements of each EU Member State for WEEE Directive.

Shimadzu Electric and Electronic Equipment is marked with the following symbol which indicates that it should not be disposed of with household waste.

How does Shimadzu support you in case of equipment waste?

When the device has reached the end of its life, Shimadzu can provide information on waste treatment for facilities for each equipment type. If you would like to receive such information, please contact “compliance@support.shimadzu.eu”.

Please note: Equipment disposal under this scheme requires contamination free devices. Contaminated devices require special disposal according to local requirements.
